2018 Poppy Project
As the poppy project has received such support and attention we will be holding a gathering in the station garden at 10:45 on Saturday the 11th of November.
We are grateful that the project has received financial support from Derbyshire County Council and has been assisted by Blue Rose Arts from Burton. We are also grateful to the many villagers who have assisted with creation of the poppies.
The Poppy Bank
The poppies are being ‘planted’ on the embankment at the rear of the Station Garden.
We have 'planted' the poppies progressively in order to illustrate the developing nature of the events.
Remembrance Board
We also erected the Remembrance Board and provided poppies with plaques for villagers to write their own, personal messages.
We are delighted that more than 120 people have written their own messages on these specially provided poppies which have been planted on the bank and in front of the board.
